Many policies to support and attract students in the 2023 university entrance exam

By this time, candidates have completed the payment of university aspiration fee in 2023 and anxiously waited for the schools to announce benchmark scores. Universities in the province have all announced the entrance quality assurance threshold (cutoff score) to receive admission applications evaluated based on test scores of high school graduation exam 2023 and benchmark scores of early enrollment methods. Basically, schools still keep the same enrollment method as last year.

Stabilize the enrollment method

In 2023, Thu Dau Mot University enrolled 37 undergraduate programs with 3,616 slots by 4 admission methods. Recently, the school's admission council has announced cutoff score to receive the admission application based on the results of high school graduation exam 2023. Accordingly, cutoff score for admission to Thu Dau Mot University is from 15.5 to 19 points.

Specifically, majors of pedagogy: primary education, preschool education, philology pedagogy had the highest cutoff score (19 points); the remaining majors ranged from 15.5 to 18 points. The school still maintains 4 admission methods as in previous years, including: reviewing academic records, results of the high school graduation exam 2023, direct admission, and results of the competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. As for the group of pedagogical majors, only one enrollment method is applied, which is to consider test scores of high school graduation exam 2023.

Dr. Ngo Hong Diep, Vice Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, said that in early July, the school announced the early admission results. This year, admission scores of early admission methods are higher than in 2022. For the method of considering test scores of the high school graduation exam, the school will implement the admission process of Ministry of Education and Training. By this method, it is expected that no later than 5:00 pm of August 22, the school will announce the admission results. Successful candidates will supplement their admission documents from August 23 to September 6.

Similarly, in this year's enrollment season, universities in Binh Duong province have stabilized their enrollment methods, namely: evaluating academic records, results of high school graduation exams, direct admission, and results of the competency assessment exam of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Particularly, Vietnam-Germany University has its own entrance exam, TestAS. Currently, universities in the province have announced admission scores for the early admission methods and cutoff scores for the high school graduation exam results.

More new majors

According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, universities are allowed to open new majors if they ensure the regulations. In the enrollment season for universities and colleges in 2023, many universities have opened new majors to attract students and meet demands of the labor market. In 2023-2024 academic year, Vietnam-Germany University enrolls 775 students for 7 undergraduate majors. The school will also open four new faculties, including: biomedical engineering, smart mobility engineering, environment - process engineering, and materials science. Many support for new students

Vietnam-Germany University has announced a full scholarship policy for new students that have the highest entrance results in 2023. The support level of this scholarship is 100% tuition fees for the entire four years studying at this school, with a total cost of more than 320 million VND. In addition to the full scholarship, 25% of fresh students with excellent achievements in each major may receive the school's talent scholarships valued at from 25% to 100% tuition fees.

In addition to attractive scholarship policies, Vietnam-Germany University also applies many tuition support policies for special student groups, such as: students subject to tuition fee exemption or reduction according to Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government; children of lecturers and staff working in education sector. In addition, new students who have financial difficulties may apply for a WUS scholarship - a scholarship for overcoming difficulties of the global University Support Organization and the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association.

In the new school year, Binh Duong University will offer 640 scholarships to the earliest candidates who are admitted to 16 faculties of the school, 40 scholarships each, each worth VND8 million.
