This is the minimum qualifying score for candidates to be able to apply for admission to schools of their choice. The floor score remains stable
The Admissions Council of Thu Dau Mot University has announced the admission floor score based on the evaluation method of reviewing the 2023 high school graduation exam scores. Accordingly, the score ranges from 15 to 18 points for each major. In 2024, Thu Dau Mot University will save 30% of the total slots of each major by considering the results of high school graduation exams in 38 enrollment majors. Candidates who are eligible to apply for admission based on their 2024 high school graduation exam scores are candidates whose total scores in 3 subjects are equal to or higher than the scores announced by the school according to their major.
Immediately after the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam were announced, the Admissions Council of Vietnamese German University also announced floor scores according to the method of reviewing the 2024 high school exam results. Accordingly, this year, Vietnamese-German University’s floor scores range from 18 to 21 points. Among them, the computer science training program (CSE) is the faculty with the highest floor score of 21 points; one with the lowest floor score is construction engineering (BCE) with 18 points.
This year, Binh Duong University's minimum score has not changed compared to last year. The floor score of pharmacy based on high school graduation exam scores is 21 points; based on high school transcript, excellent grade 12 academic performance. The remaining majors are 15 points for both evaluation methods based on high school exam scores and high school transcript scores. As for Eastern International University, this year, the floor score for all majors remains the same at 15 points, with the nursing faculty at 19 points.
In general, floor score range of universities in the province in 2024 remains stable compared to 2023. The range is from 15 to 21 points depending on school, faculty, and admission combination. The announcement of university cutoff scores in 2024 has partly helped candidates orient their aspirations for admission.
Be careful in choosing admission wishes
Immediately after the Ministry of Education & Training announced the 2024 high school graduation exam scores, starting from July 18 until 5:00 p.m. of July 30, candidates will register their university admission wishes on the system according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education & Training at website http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn/. Candidates will have a total of 12 days to apply, adjust and supplement their admission wishes with unlimited times.
Giving advice to candidates about registering their admission wishes, MSc. Trinh Hoang Xuan Phuc, Director of Communication and Career Consulting Center of Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology, said the Ministry of Education & Training's common admission system allows all candidates to make an unlimited number of wishes. Therefore, candidates should not register for only one or a few wishes as this will reduce their chances of being admitted.
“We have also encountered many cases where more than 30 wishes were registered, which is very wasteful and unnecessary. Instead, candidates should divide their admission wishes into groups appropriate to their abilities, which will increase their probability of being admitted. When you register for admission, the most crucial thing is to complete the entire process and press the finish button so that the system can record all the wishes you have registered," MSc. Trinh Hoang Xuan Phuc gives additional notes to candidates.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Thien Thu, a representative of Marketing and Admissions Department of Viet Duc University, said: “After registering, you should regularly monitor your chosen universities to see the announcement of floor scores and admission scores for each major. This is an important time for students to choose the major and school they want to pursue in the next four years. Therefore, you need to be calm, wise and steadfast in your choice."
Experts also note that candidates need to arrange in order of priority from 1 to last, in which number 1 is the highest priority wish. Once you have passed at the 1st choice, the next admission wishes will not be considered. The system will only select one admission request based on priority order, so the chance of admission will belong to candidates who know how to register in the correct order of priority for each request. Not being in a hurry but also avoiding being subjective in registering the order of priority will help increase the candidate's chance of being admitted to their favorite faculty and school.

After the 2024 high school graduation exam, candidates should take note of these important milestones: From July 1 to July 20, additional accounts will be granted to independent candidates who do not have accounts on the system. From July 18 to 5:00 p.m., July 30, candidates can register, adjust, and supplement their admission wishes unlimited times.
