When the creative movement in labor and production is embraced by numerous units and enterprises, and is expressed through actions that are easy for workers to understand, remember, and implement, it can lead to a greater number of initiatives across various fields. These initiatives ultimately bring significant value to society.
Businesses put in money, unions launch movement
From 2023 to the present, there have been, on average, more than 3,000 worker initiatives each year in the province, benefiting businesses with profits in the thousands of billions of VND. In 2024 alone, over 3,200 initiatives generated profits exceeding 400 billion VND.
To promote and deepen the culture of initiative and creativity among union members and workers, companies should encourage employees to propose and implement initiatives in all fields. Monthly and quarterly, companies should summarize the initiatives from each group and production line, rewarding individuals and teams with effective ideas and applying them widely in production. This approach has fostered a competitive spirit, enhanced labor productivity within each enterprise, and allowed workers to learn from one another and progress together. Many of these initiatives have been adopted by corporations both domestically and abroad.
Mr. Dang Quang Duan, Chairman of grassroots Trade Union at Apparel Far Eastern Company Limited, emphasized that when employees feel empowered to propose initiatives, the company is committed to recognizing and implementing them. Some initiatives may take time to execute and require labor and materials, but if they are deemed feasible, the company always supports and encourages their success. “Every year, the company sees hundreds of initiatives, resulting in dozens that are highly effective and widely applied to production lines. The achievements of employees are always recognized by the grassroots trade union and the enterprise through immediate rewards and monthly allowances. Additionally, outstanding employees may be promoted to higher positions with increased salaries, ensuring they are not disadvantaged," stated Mr. Duan.
At Maruichi Sun Steel Joint Stock Company in Di An City, for instance, financial investment from the enterprise and organizational efforts from the union have led to more than 30 exemplary initiatives each year. Notable individuals like Mr. Le Thanh Hung and Mr. Cai Viet Hieu have continually researched and developed impactful initiatives. As mechanical workers, they were gradually promoted to department heads and eventually became production department directors. Notably, in 2019, Mr. Le Thanh Hung successfully implemented a project that reduced LPG (gas) costs for paint drying ovens, generating significant savings for the company.
Currently, the emulation movement "Good Workers, Creative Workers" is increasingly spreading throughout businesses in the province. Mr. Mai Phu Hung, Vice Chairman of grassroots Trade Union at Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared that compared to previous years, the number of initiatives and creative ideas from employees has significantly increased. Each year, approximately 100 innovative ideas are presented, many of which are effectively applied in production activities, resulting in substantial profits for the company. Moreover, every year, at least one initiative is selected for implementation across the entire company system worldwide. Employees with outstanding initiatives are rewarded accordingly and considered for advancement within the company.
Workers strive to learn more and be creative
Thanks to the active support from businesses, many union members and workers have worked diligently to study and excel in production, earning recognition in various forums both locally and nationally. Most recently, in July 2023, Binh Duong honored seven individuals with the prestigious Nguyen Duc Canh Award. This award is given every five years to outstanding workers involved directly in production and to highlight the nationwide emulation movement "Good Workers, Creative Workers."
In 2024, Binh Duong sent three exceptional workers to participate in the Forum on "Improving National Labor Productivity." Among them is Ms. Bach Le Ngoc Chau from Saigon Stec Company Limited in Thu Dau Mot City, who has become a role model for many young union members and workers in terms of learning and innovation in work and production.
Ms. Chau has worked at her company for 12 years and has continuously pursued self-improvement. She took the initiative to study and later took the exam to join the technical department, despite not having a background in mechanical engineering. In addition to hands-on learning and research, Ms. Chau also dedicated time to learn foreign languages, particularly Japanese, even after working hours. She stated, “My language skills have helped me succeed in researching machinery and production systems.” Her relentless dedication has yielded impressive results; from 2018 to 2022, Ms. Chau developed five initiatives that brought a total benefit of 330 billion VND to the company.
At Supor Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Truong Thanh Long, a member of the stainless steel polishing team, exemplifies innovation and creativity within the company. He consistently achieves outstanding results in production, often exceeding assigned targets in terms of productivity, quality, and efficiency. His initiative to use "Paper Boxes for Product Packaging" received high praise from the company's leadership, as it helped save 2.9 billion VND annually.
