Medical checks-up and treatment using health insurance for workers under scrutiny

On the afternoon of August 21, Le Van Kham, Member of the Social Affairs Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) and NA deputies had a special supervision session on "Implementation of policies and laws on medical examination and treatment covered by health insurance for workers in industrial parks and clusters” in Thuan An city in the period of 2020-2023.

Thuan An Medical Center is a second-class hospital with 320 beds, 10 medical stations and regional general clinics. In 2022, the unit had more than 239,000 visits of patients for medical examination and treatment, including more than 79,700 visits using corporate health insurance cards. Up to now, the center has more than 147,000 heads of health insurance cards who are workers in industrial parks.

At the monitoring session, members of the delegation acknowledged medical staff, doctors and units’ opinions and recommendations on the lack of human resources, infrastructure, equipment for medical examination and treatment by health insurance, the situation of paying health insurance premiums causing difficulties for the unit...The delegation will transfer these opinions to functional agencies for considering and settling them under the regulations.
