Specifically, Department of Health directed the bidding for encoding of medical supplies according to principles of Decision No. 5086/QD-BYT during the centralized bidding process from January 1st 2022. For results of centralized bidding that are valid before Jan 1st 2022 but have not yet used medical supply code being purchased and used by medical examination and treatment establishments, Department of Health or the centralized bidding units shall request contractors and responsible units to declare medical supplies for automatic code issuance.
This activity is to ensure that medical examination and treatment facilities perform the conversion of medical supply encoding, use of codes in extracting and transferring electronic data to the social insurance agencies in accordance with regulations.
The Department of Health encourages non-public medical examination and treatment facilities to use medical supply code in bidding for procurement, management and payment of costs at their facilities in order to be consistent in the implementation.
