Early April 25, the People’s Committee of Ben Cat district and provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development co-held a meeting in response to the 2013 National Week on Clear Water and Environmental Hygiene. Attending the event was provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem; representatives of provincial sectors, departments and mass organizations; leaders of Ben Cat district and district-based firms together with armed forces, Youth Union members, pupils across the district.
Binh Duong has actively responded to the national week on clean water and environmental hygiene launched by the Prime Minister of Government since 1998 and reached positive results, contributing to changing people’s life quality and moving towards the millennium development goals committed by Vietnam.
With the theme of “Clean water and environmental hygiene to ensure safety and sustainability”, the 2013 National Week on Clean Water and Environmental Hygiene will take place with many significant activities, beginning from April 29 to May 6 and running until the World Environment Day (June 5). The week aims to raise public awareness of protecting the environment and preserving the quality of water source.
