In order to promptly treat and care for cases of SARS-Cov-2 infection, Binh Duong has established and put 4 field hospitals into use with a total of about 16,000 beds arranged in 3 localities. The construction of the field hospitals meeting standards of the Ministry of Health has shown the interest and determination of Binh Duong in the effective care and treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Satisfying needs for treatment of Covid-19 patients
Facing the unpredictable developments of Covid-19 pandemic, provincial Party Committee and People's Committee have focused on directing the urgent, resolute and synchronous implementation of solutions to prevent and control the pandemic. Particularly, the province has immediately implemented the expansion and establishment of more large-scale field hospitals, fully meeting requirements in terms of material facilities and equipment to strengthen the local capacity of collecting and treating Covid-19 patients on the 2nd and 3rd floors as recommended by the Ministry of Health. This is also the province's top priority during the current period.

Although there are still many difficulties during the time of social distancing, with the dynamic and creative tradition of the province and the deep sense of social responsibility of the units, only in a short time, 4 field hospitals have been completed and put into use. Accordingly, up to now, the province has had a total of 4 field hospitals capable of collecting about 16,000 Covid-19 patients for treatment. Specifically, they include the Binh Duong No. 1 field hospital at the WTC Expo Binh Duong new city in Thu Dau Mot city’s Hoa Phu ward with 1,500 beds; the second facility of Binh Duong No. 1 field hospital in the factory area of BW Industrial Development Joint Stock Company (BWID) with 5,300 beds in Ben Cat town’s Thoi Hoa ward; the Binh Duong No. 3 Field Hospital with 3,000 beds at Vietnamese-German University in Ben Cat town’sThoi Hoa ward; the 5B field hospital at provincial Center for National Defense and Security Education in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Loi Ward with capacity of receiving and treating about 500 mild Covid-19 patients and the Binh Duong No. 4 field hospital in the factory area of Hoang Hung Company in Bau Bang district with a scale of about 3,000 to 5,000 beds.
Taking good care of patients
Possible seeing, all the staff of the fields hospitals have promoted the spirit of fighting the pandemic and continued overcoming difficulties to complete entrusted task. They all identified that this is considered as the honor and responsibility entrusted by provincial Party Committee, People's Committee and people in the fight against the pandemic. They need to improve their proactiveness flexibility and efficiency of coordination to provide good care and treatment for Covid-19 patients.
Doctor Huynh Minh Chin, Director of Bau Bang district’s Medical Center, Director of the Binh Duong No. 4 field hospital said that provincial leaders have trusted and assigned the district’s Medical Center to manage the Binh Duong No. 4 field hospital - with very spacious and modern facilities from treatment to accommodation. With the trust of leaders at all levels, staff of the field hospital are determined to overcome all difficulties to fulfill their duties well. The hospital will try to shorten the treatment time and reduce the mortality rate while preventing cross-infection for doctors and medical staff at the hospital.
As of August 11, the Binh Duong No. 4 field hospital has received 1,130 patients. It is expected that by August 15, 300 patients will be discharged from the hospital. Whilst, there are now 2,099 patients being treated at the Binh Duong No.3 field hospital. The field hospital has the initial capacity of 3,000 beds, but its used area has only met 2,100 beds. A representative of the hospital’s directorate said that the hospital needs more medical supplies to effectively serve treatment of Covid-19 patients. Meanwhile, medical staff of the field hospitals No. 1 and No. 2 are also determined to work hard to treat and take care of Covid-19 patients.
According to the assessment of the Ministry of Health, field hospitals in Binh Duong province have met standards of the ministry. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health said that Binh Duong's operation of field hospitals has shown the drastic involvement of the entire political system as well as the solidarity and consensus from people and businesses to quickly build field hospitals in accordance with standards of the Ministry of Health. It shows that the province has prepared very urgently but meticulously, contributing to the treatment and care of Covid-19 patients in the best conditions.
