Di An town’s Steering Board against HIV/AIDS has just held a meeting in response to World AIDS Day (December 1) with the participation of more than 700 members from the local Youth Union and other mass organizations.
The town gained considerable results in HIV/AIDS prevention over the past time. As of late December 2015, additional 110 HIV carriers were found in the town, bringing the total number of HIV carriers herein to 653. Among them, there were 199 cases that had progressed to AIDS and 180 had died of AIDS.
To implement the 90-90-90 target to end AIDS epidemic in Vietnam, the town’s healthcare sector will focus on helping HIV/AIDS carriers obviously know about their situation while speeding up propaganda work to prevent discrimination against HIV/AIDS carriers and their families among people from all strata in order to join hands in prevention of HIV/AIDS pandemic.
