Nguyen Van Sau, chairman of Long Nguyen commune Farmers’ Society in Ben Cat district:
With a clement face and funny talking, chairman Nguyen Van Sau has been won local residents’ hearts.
He said “As a rep for farmers, I have to grasp their aspiration to help them in time”. At the age of 56 with 11 years of experience on working as chairman of the local farmers’ society, Sau has learnt well about circumstance of every farmer. He often suggests functional agencies to help poor farmers.
Not only as a good chairman, but Sau is a prestigious mediator. Disputes relating to land, family marriage and so on, he mediated successfully.
Aside from helping farmers develop economy, he has managed to develop his family economy by a 7 ha rubber plantation with an annual income of several hundreds of million of VND.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc, chairwoman of Cay Truong commune Farmers’ Society:
Cay Truong is a remote commune with
a wide area. Despite difficulties, she has managed to create friendliness and closeness
to approach and promulgate local farmers.
Attaching to work of the society, she has contributed to create a fund for farmers with the total money of VND840mil. She said “In other places, the fund is mobilized from donors and businesses…, here we mainly base on our internal force, contributed by members. The money is spent for assisting poor farmers to buy nurslings and species.
