On the afternoon of September 27, provincial Children’s Support Fund Council in collaboration with provincial Department of Labor, War Invalid & Social Affairs and Radio-Television Station held a mid-autumn festival with scholarships awarded to poor-but-excellent pupils, students and children with difficult circumstances while marking its 20th anniversary.

Attending the festival were Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Le Huu Phuoc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education; Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with 1,000 children with difficult circumstances.
Accordingly, the festival awarded 297 scholarships, 28 bicycles and 15 computers to poor-but-excellent pupils and student; provided 22 children with long-term allowances under a program named “Each kind heart makes a dream come true”; presented 1,000 mid-autumn gifts worth VND500,000 each to needy children with a total expense of nearly VND1.6billion.
The festival also honored collectives and individuals with contributions to the development of provincial Children’s Support Fund Council during the past 20 years. Particularly, provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 55 outstanding collectives and individuals in taking care of children during the 1997-2017 period. Provincial Children’s Support Fund Council also received VND3.6billion from donors at the festival.
