Labor Confederation of Ben Cat Town has held a Mid-Autumn Festival gift-giving program for workers’ children with special difficulties in 2017. The children’ eyes were filled with joy when receiving these gifts. It is this effort that helped many children workers overcome their difficult situation.
Each child had a different circumstance but the same will to overcome difficulties in life to study and have been excellent students in many years. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thu, daughter of Nguyen Van Uot, worker of An Hung Tuong Steel Company, was excited to receive the gift and said: "Every year, I receive a Mid-Autumn Festival gift, I am very happy and always try to study well".
It is known that, in this program, Labor Federation of Ben Cat District presented more than 300 gifts to workers’ children with special difficulties in the area. The gifts were not big but a great spiritual encouragement to these children. The children also enjoyed dragon lion dance, folk games; This was a chance for workers’ children to have fun, exchange, meet each other... Thereby to help them understand more deeply meaning of Mid-Autumn Festival, the beauty of traditional culture of the nation. Sharing difficulties with workers is also a way to help their lives to be a little less arduous, giving them one more motivation to work better.
Mid-Autumn Festival everywhere
In recent days, grassroots trade unions are actively taking care of material and spiritual life of labor force. Mr. Nguyen Minh Xuan, Trade Union Chairman of Dat Hoa Plastic Company, said: "Care for workers focuses on not only themselves but also their children to encourage them work well." Therefore, Dat Hoa Plastic Company always pays attention to workers’ children.
Specifically, the company built a nursery school for children from 6 to 24 months of age to serve their workers; monthly gives milk to under 15-year-old children, gifts on International Children's Day, set up libraries for children to read books, stories, magazines ... to improve knowledge and entertainment. In particular, this Mid-Autumn Festival, Trade Union advised Directors’ Board to award Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships to workers’ children from kindergarten to high school students, each scholarship valued from 200,000 to 1.2 million VND; gifts included lanterns, moon cakes, books for workers’ children with special difficulties.
Panko Vina Company (My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, Ben Cat District) will also organize a cultural and entertainment festival for workers’ children at dormitory. The event will take place on the night of 4 Oct. In addition, Trade Union of Shyang Hung Cheng Company (Thuan An Town) also gave gifts and lanterns to workers’ children in the company. Folk games, karaoke, entertainment activities were also organized to serve workers and their children.
At Trade Union of RK Company (Bau Bang), the first full moon festival for workers will be organized for about 1,300 workers’ children.
In addition to musical performances of the children, the company's Trade Union will also present gifts, cakes, lanterns and organize games for the children.
Meanwhile, Do Quang Trung, Trade Union Chairman of Nitto Denko Vietnam Company, said: "Every year, our trade union cooperate with the company to organize a Full moon festival for workers’ children. On the night of the festival, children participate in fun activities, folk games, performances and dragon dances. In addition to moon cakes, the union presents gifts to disadvantaged workers’ children and disabled children of the company".
