War veteran Le Van Thoi now owns a lodging facility with 35
rooms in Binh Thuan 1 quarter. He is one of the local war veterans taking part
in building the first model of war veterans’lodging club since 2003.

Veterans ’ Society now takes lead in building the model of war veterans’lodging
club, contributing to propagandizing the Party and State’s policies and
guidelines to lodgers.
The lodging proprietor said that he and other members of the local war veterans’ lodging clubs have maintained the organization of monthly meetings on dissemination of information about the Law on Residence, the Law on Marriage-Family…to lodgers and mobilized them to take part in the local movements.
Members of the local war veterans’ lodging clubs have also got involved in many significant activities, including visiting and donating Tet gifts to lodgers who are not able to return home for Tet.
Nguyen Van Thang, chairman of Thuan Giao ward’s War Veterans’ Society said that the local war veterans’ lodging clubs visited and presented Tet gifts to lodgers with a total expense of nearly VND80mln on the occasion of the 2012 Tet festival. Last year, they also provided 11 information sources for the local police agency, helping seizing 9 wrongdoers.
It is known that Thuan Giao ward is an outstanding locality in building the model of war veterans’lodging club. So far, the model has been replicated to 9 out of 10 communes and wards in Thuan An town with 397 lodging proprietors being war veterans and around 18,000 lodgers.
Truong Quoc Tien, chairman of Thuan An town’s War Veterans said that the local war veterans’ lodging clubs have over time well realized the propaganda work on the Party and State’s policies and guidelines. Last year, they decided not to increase lodging prices and had reasonable collection for many other fees.
Possibly speaking, the birth of the war veterans’lodging club model has contributing to ensuring the local political security and social order.
