With the theme of “Trade union goes with sustainable development of businesses”, Month for Workers 2014 will include many significant activities for laborers, contributing to build a harmonic, steady and advanced relation at companies, the provincial Labor Union vice chairman Nguyen Thien Phuoc said.

among laborers.
On Feb. 24, 2012, the central secretariat delivered the Announcement No.77-TB/TW on recognizing May as Month for Workers with the purpose of taking care, protecting legitimate rights and interests of workers, public servants; building a harmonic, steady and advanced relation at businesses.
Binh Duong, as of 2014, launched the 7th Week for Young Workers with numerous significant and useful activities. Under the instruction of the provincial party committee, all level authorities and socio-political organizations will in this year launch operations to take care of public servants and laborers on the Month for Workers with the theme of “Month for Vietnamese Workers and Week for Binh Duong provincial Young Workers”.
Accordingly, depending on real situation of every locality, the provincial Labor Union and Youth Union will cooperate to launch significant and proper activities in an attempt to disseminate and raise young workers and laborers’ awareness on politics and laws as well as to protect their legitimate rights and interests.
What activities will be set out by trade unions at all levels?
Firstly, all level trade unions will spur dissemination and education activities of the International Labor Day, the 85th anniversary of building and developing Vietnamese Trade Union, tradition of working class and so on. In addition, all level trade unions will hold meetings for trade unionists and laborers to disseminate Resolution No.20-NQ/TW dated Jan. 28, 2008 of the 6th Meeting of the Party Central Committee of the 10th tenure on further building the Vietnamese working class in industrialization and modernization of the country, the 2012 Labor Code, the 2013 Constitution and the 11th term Vietnamese Trade Union’s charters.
Moreover, all level trade unions will focus on implementing grassroot democratic regulations, building a harmonic, steady and advanced relation at enterprises. Meanwhile, trade unions at all levels will actively supervise implementation of laws, policies and regulations relating to laborers’ legitimate rights and interests and simultaneously will organize activities to protect laborers and trade unionists’ legitimate rights and interests, applaud excellent examples in labor and production, honor businesses well expediting employment policies and facilitating grassroot trade unions’ operation and so on.
On this occasion, trade unions at all levels will mobilize businesses to help needy cadres, unionists and laborers and workers suffering occupational accidents and among others.
What will trade unions at all levels do to take care of laborers’ legitimate rights and interests?
We specify that trade union organization takes care of laborers not only in the Month for Workers but around the year. Therefore, aside from constant activities, trade unions at all levels aim at depth activities. Specifically, trade unions will initiate and hold patriotic emulation movements among laborers. The movements will include key ones such as “good and creative laborers” and so on to increase labor capacity and ensure job and income for laborers.
In the other hand, trade unions will encourage laborers to join positively in movements of self-learning and self-practice to improve their skills.
The highlighted activity in the Month for Workers consists of movements of culture-art and sport-gymnastics. The trade unions at all levels in cooperation with localities and functional agencies will forward cultural, artistic and sport activities and market days selling goods with the stabilized prices for laborers at industrial parks, compounds and lodging houses.
