More activities aimed at workers

From the beginning of this year, units and localities in Binh Duong province have had practical activities to care for workers having difficult circumstances. Good news continues to come to union members and workers living in difficult circumstances when this November, Provincial Labor Confederation will present 7 more "Union Shelters" and 45 gifts worth VND 10 million each to workers having extremely difficult circumstances. In addition, about 1,000 spring train tickets for workers from the Northern provinces to return home celebrating Tet festival have been listed by trade unions at all levels.

Looking forward to train rides bringing happiness

There are still three months left until the Lunar New Year 2024, but in the past few days, the warmth of the Tet holiday has gradually spread to workshops and factories in the province. Nguyen Thi Hoa, born in Quang Binh province, worker at Compass 2 Company (Thuan An City) said: “For workers who are working far from home like us, most are in difficult circumstances. The money I earn has to be spent on rent, child care, and the burden of living expenses. Some people go back to their hometown every 3 to 5 years to celebrate Tet and spend time with their families. That's why every year, when the Trade Union announced the registration for "Spring Bus" and "Spring Train", everyone is excited about and waits for Tet. The day I received my train ticket, my family, colleagues, and friends in my hometown sent their congratulations and looked forward to each day. The feeling of happiness like that is hard to describe..."

Nguyen Duy Phuong, President of grassroots Trade Union of Compass 2 Company, said: “Through the Provincial Labor Confederation’s program "Spring Train", "Spring Train of Gratitude" for Lunar New Year 2024, our grassroots Trade Union informed all employees about the registration process. Tickets are primarily given to workers having difficult circumstances who have not been able to return home to celebrate Tet for 3 years. Therefore, our company has up to 700 employees, but on average only about 10 employees receive spring train tickets each year. The list has been sent to Provincial Labor Federation, we are waiting for the day to receive train tickets."

According to Provincial Labor Confederation, the program "Spring Gratitude Train" for Lunar New Year 2024 will change compared to 2023. If in 2023, the program of bringing workers having difficult circumstances back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet was used round-trip train tickets by colleges at all levels (up to 5,000 pairs of round-trip train tickets were given away), this year spring train tickets will be given to workers in remote provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hanoi and 1,000 train tickets are financed by the provincial Trade Union budget. As expected, workers from the Central provinces will receive bus tickets. Other activities to take care of employees on Tet holidays, especially employees living in difficult circumstances, will be organized thoughtfully like Tet programs in 2023.

Many meaningful activities

In addition to Tet care activities, in recent days, Provincial Labor Confederation has also organized many other meaningful activities, such as to contribute to Provincial Fund "Supporting workers having particularly difficult circumstances", call on union members, workers, businesses, and benefactors to join hands and contribute to the fund. Provincial Labor Confederation has also mobilized many businesses to support the construction cost of 7 more "Union Shelters" for workers having extremely difficult circumstances this November (bringing the total number of houses built in 2023 to 14).

From the beginning of this year, Trade Union at all levels in the province have continued to carry out many programs and activities to visit and take practical care of workers in the province.

For workers who do sports as a hobby, they are looking forward to final round of the 2023 national workers' football championship taking place in Binh Duong from November 17 to 19. The tournament was held at Sora Gardens Links football field (Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city). Previously, after more than two months of qualifying in 8 regions, the Organizing Committee selected 8 teams won the ticket to the final round, including: Trade Unions of Hai Phong 3, Nghe An, Kien Giang, Vietnam Petroleum, Binh Duong 2, Quang Nam, Saigon Water Supply Corporation, Information & Media.

Nguyen Kim Loan, President of Provincial Labor Confederation, said this is a big football tournament, a big playground for workers across the country, hosted by Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Binh Duong Provincial Labor Federation is very honored to be chosen by the Organizing Committee to be the host for the final round. Up to now, the organization has been thoroughly prepared, just waiting for the competition day. The players' professional was appreciated and contributed to beautiful matches, and the tournament also attracted thousands of workers and local people coming to watch and cheer. It can be said that the 2023 national workers' football championship was very meaningful to the province's workers, promoting the movement of physical training and sports among all workers...

Up to now, there are still many businesses affected by the global economic recession, making the lives of many employees so tough. The province's activities to care for both physical and mental health of employees in recent times have been very practical and diverse. The activities provided timely support for employees to overcome immediate difficulties and encouraged them to commit to their work.
