More playgrounds created for the public

Cultural and artistic activities in Thu Dau Mot city have been greatly vibrant and diverse. Local leaders have consistently made efforts to organize various entertainment venues to provide residents with meaningful spiritual playground.

More playgrounds

According to Mr. Tran Ha Hai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh Ward, the area has many cultural facilities that meet the needs for recreational spaces for the residents. Taking advantage of the existing benefits of several parks, recently, Hiep Thanh Ward, along with various community organizations and neighborhoods, has organized many cultural and artistic playgrounds, as well as sports activities to serve the recreational and socializing needs of the people. One of the models that attracts many participants is the "Happiness Park" model in neighborhood 5 (within the Hiep Thanh I residential area) implemented by the Youth Union of the Ward.

The competition of "Performing the Wedding Ceremony of the Vietnamese People" organized by the Culture, Information, and Sports Center of Thu Dau Mot city is highly regarded for its efforts in preserving and promoting traditional culture.

This model has been maintained since the end of March 2024 until now (every Wednesday afternoon) and has become a playground highly appreciated by the people. Here, children are delighted to immerse themselves in physical games, painting figurines, making sand paintings, or eagerly competing with each other over exciting chess games. While their children are playing, adults also take the opportunity to exercise with outdoor fitness equipment in the park or take a few laps to improve their health.

According to the assessment of the leaders of Hiep Thanh Ward, cultural and sports facilities at the grassroots level in the ward have become a gathering place for residents to engage in recreational activities, enjoy, create culture, and improve physical fitness, as well as serve as a means to promote and support the socio-economic development tasks of the locality.

Not only in Hiep Thanh Ward, but other localities in Thu Dau Mot city also effectively utilize community facilities to create recreational spaces that meet the cultural and sports needs of the residents. In particular, the model "Morning Coffee - Exchange with the People" is organized by the neighborhoods in Thu Dau Mot city at locations such as neighborhood offices, parks, and flower gardens, attracting a large number of residents to participate.

Meeting the demand for cultural enjoyment

To serve and enhance the spiritual life of the people, in recent times, the Culture, Information, and Sports Center of the city has organized or coordinated with various sectors and local organizations to hold many playgrounds and cultural programs in the pedestrian area of Bach Dang Street, Thu Dau Mot Park, Nguyen Du Park, and at several Cultural and Community Learning Centers in the wards.

In addition to modern games, traditional cultural values are also focused on, preserved, and promoted, creating an important foundation to boost cultural, socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security, and build a strong political system in all aspects.

Children are excited to participate in fun activities at the "Happiness Park" in Hiep Thanh Ward.

Building on the results achieved from previous programs, in 2024, the cultural activities organized by Thu Dau Mot city will feature innovations in performance formats as well as a diversification of activities aimed at various audiences, in accordance with Resolution No. 22/NQ/TU dated November 9, 2022, of the city Party Committee  building on the results achieved from previous programs, in 2024, the cultural activities organized by Thu Dau Mot city will feature innovations in performance formats as well as a diversification of activities aimed at various audiences, in accordance with Resolution No. 22/NQ/TU dated November 9, 2022, of the city Party Committee. Many highly regarded activities have been assessed, ensuring both quality and effectiveness, especially the recent "Performance of Vietnamese Wedding Rituals" competition held for the first time in 2024 by the city Center for Culture, Information, and Sports, which has positively contributed to the preservation and promotion of Vietnamese family cultural values in the area. As part of this competition, the center has also coordinated to register a Vietnamese record for the "longest wedding gate shaped like a dragon and phoenix made of flowers, tubers, and fruits in Vietnam (breaking the record)."

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Director of the Culture, Information, and Sports Center of Thu Dau Mot city, through these activities and programs, not only does it bring a joyful and excited atmosphere, meeting the needs for entertainment and cultural enjoyment of the people in the city, but it also attracts residents from other localities to Thu Dau Mot city for recreation and tourism.

Continuing the cultural and artistic activities to meet the enjoyment needs of the people, this weekend, the city Center for Culture, Information, and Sports will organize the "Student Ceremony Protocol Competition." It is expected that there will be 14 student ceremony teams from various temples, representing different wards participating. This is one of the meaningful activities in the spiritual cultural life of the people, demonstrating the respect, preservation, and inheritance of traditional cultural values to promote the good things in modern life.
