Morning June 3rd, provincial Department of Education and Training (DOET) held the 10th-grade entrance exam of the 2015-2016 school year. There were 12,205 pupils graduated secondary education to take the exam at 27 examination boards. Candidates took 3 tests: literature, mathematics, and English multiple-choice test. According to DOET, contents of tests were contained in the curriculum of secondary education; difficulty level was higher than semester exam.

Contestants were taking the 10th-grade entrance exam at Hung Vuong gifted high school.
In the 2015-2016 school year, provincial DOET planed to enroll over 9,200 pupils for 27 public high schools. Candidates of 10th-grade of non-gifted high schools might have 2 admission wishes; candidates of 10th-grade of Hung Vuong gifted high school might have 3 admission wishes.
Candidates were admitted into high schools according to the order of registered admission wishes. Candidates were admitted into 10th-grade based on floor point, benchmark point, and enrollment target of each school. The number of admitted pupils was based on test results rather than enrollment target.
