Up to now, more than 10 million households have borrowed from VBSP, of which more than 2.1 million households have escaped poverty sustainably, more than 3.3 million households through VBSP credit have been using clean and hygienic water. In addition, 125,000 households were allowed to borrow money from VBSP to build houses, 315,000 pupils and students borrowed VBSP loans to continue learning, contributing to creating quality human resources; more than 1 million people are allowed to borrow money from VBSP to develop production, 21,000 people are allowed to borrow capital to work abroad.
In Binh Duong, in the first 6 months of 2020, the provincial VBSP has implemented 11 credit programs for lending to poor households and other policy beneficiaries, with a total outstanding loan of VND 3,130 billion, of which concentrated weak lending programs for poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped from poverty pupils etc. Students from policy credit activities have provided preferential capital to the poor and other policy beneficiaries, contributing positively on sustainable poverty reduction, job creation and social security in the area.
The provincial leaders asked the provincial VBSP to revise the borrowers, create favorable conditions for poor households to borrow capital and create jobs but must use the loan capital effectively in the coming time.
