‘My life is very simple’ says Golden Rose Award Winner Thanh Nguyen

On March 6, at the national Conference Center in Ha Noi, Mrs. Dao Thi Thanh Nguyen, general director of Thanh Le trade & import-export Company was one among 100 typical businesswomen getting the Golden Rose Award 2009.

This is not the first time you win prestigious prizes honoring women’s contributions to socio-economic development. How is your feeling?

I’m very happy to get the high-ranking titles conferred by the State, especially titles honoring Vietnamese women. Those prizes are great encouragement for business development, are an honor for myself, my unit and my family. On the occasion, I want to express my thanks to the local administration and agencies for their favorable conditions to my work.

You are considered as a good businesswoman. Could you share your secret?

I have been nominated as a general director of the company since 1996. As a leader, I always set out flexible, dynamic and creative solutions to reap highest results for production and business. Most of staff consider the company as their second family. It is one of crucial factors for the company’s success.

All of the company staff love you very much for your good morality and personality. What do you think of this?

I’m very happy for my attention and advices that can help them more mature. I view them as my relatives and vice versa they consider me as their elder sister.

Your company positively involves in social charity activities. Your company spends nearly VND8bil for the good deeds?

As a business, aside from production-business development, I also want to pay attention to unlucky people.

Your personality is influenced by your father or mother?

My personality is like my father’s determination and my mother’s clemency.

You are a dutiful child. Your mother is very happy for you?

My mother is now 78 years old but she has a sound mind. Every day I have lunch with her to give care to her and she always encourages me to deserve everyone’s trust.

Could you tell about your private time?

My life is very simple so I spend most of my time for the company and family.

What factors should present women have to reach success in life and work?

Women play an important role in social activities and in family. I think that women should make greater efforts to excel all activities. Happiness is bringing joy for everyone.
