At weekends, My Phuoc Theater is full of laughter and enjoyment of movies. Meeting the recreational needs of factory workers, the theater organizer has invested into a 400 inch wide screen at the cost of more than VND 2 billion to show movies every night. The movies after being showed at bigger theatres shall be purchased by board of directors (BOD) of the theater to serve the needs of factory workers enjoying the new movie of ticket price at VND 10,000 dong a person. In particular, for children's movies, the theater offer 1,000 free tickets to school students. To save the audience from being boring, the theatre BOD always alternates activities of movie shows and music. Tran Thanh Van, a factory worker in My Phuoc Industrial Park, said: "The day time working and extra hours for the company occupies all my time, leaving me little opportunities for recreational activities and entertainment. When the large-screen theater is built, I often visit to watch the movie. Many movies of recent introduction are instantly showed at the theatre, we really enjoy here. "
The theatre was more jubilant with the ongoing AFF Cup. The second leg semifinal of Vietnam and Malaysia attracted over 3,000 factory workers watching through the wide screen to cheer up the home team.In addition to football tournament like the AFF Cup, the theater also offers shows of Premier League, BTV Cup.... Mr. Le Thanh Sang, a local resident in the industrial park, said: "I prefer getting here to watch football matches. Here, thousands of people are passionate for the sports. Watching football on wide screen is just like sitting in the stadium to cheer on their favorite teams."
For the upcoming Christmas of this year, the theater marks the season by the high image of Christmas tree lit at night lasting from December 12 through 24 for local people and factory workers to celebrate the upcoming Christmas and Tet holiday. According to Ms. Do Thi Nghia, Director of My Phuoc Theater, formerly Becamex IDC built the theatre to create a place for factory workers inside and outside of My Phuoc Industrial Park to entertain.Holding that in mind and from the date of assuming the role as theater director, she has proposed plenty initiatives together with local people to make the theatre more popular as a place of recreation and entertainment. Upholding the joy of factory workers, the theater aims only at creating a place of recreation and entertainment for factory workers without much consideration for benefits.
By the efforts of the My Phuoc Theater BOD, the place has really been the ideal destination for young factory workers to visit. After the moments of relaxation, people might be in good health and mental status to continue working and staying away from social evils as well as releaving the homesickness of immigrant workers.
