Sharing with the poor
Overcoming 30km, we arrived at Vo Thi Mau’ family in quarter 1, My Phuoc township, Ben Cat district. Mrs. Mau’s family is a poor household in the locality, so after receiving a new house funded by donors, she is very happy. “Thanks to assistance of sectors and mass bodies, I have enjoyed a new house, I will make greater efforts to escape poverty”, she said.
Arriving at Truong Minh Thanh’s household in quarter 2. Thanh’s house was dilapidated and his income is not enough for daily meals. Joy has come to him when local mass bodies granted him a hi-unity house. He joyfully said that now he does not worry about accommodation and concentrates on escaping poverty.
Over the past 5 years, My Phuoc township Fatherland Front Committee in cooperation with mass bodies to build and grant as many as 13 houses to the poor with the total value of more than VND375mil. In response to the mobilization of “Day for the poor” 2012, local people, donors and businesses contributed money and labor days to repair 7 dilapidated houses, pay gift visits to the poor and children in especially difficult circumstances, to support capital for underprivileged families with the total money of more than VND196mil.
Besides, the Front has spent special attention to privileged families, heroic mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, dioxin victims and lonely old people. These are results of solidarity from sectors, agencies and mass bodies and people.
Upholding the national great unity bloc
Trinh Phuc Minh, chairman of My Phuoc township Fatherland Front Committee said that the township front has over the past 5 years spared no efforts to improve difficulties, finish the set goals. In addition, the township fatherland front has made initiatives taking front work to every household, diversifying forms and models and so on.
Through the patriotic emulation movements, the front’s role and prestige have been affirmed.
At present, My Phuoc township Fatherland Front Committee has built 6 self-control teams environment, traffic safety and 3 clubs for lodging house proprietors with the participation of as many as 1,452 members.
The self-control teams on environment at quarter 2 and 3 have been under effective operation, winning high assessments from local agencies.
The festive day of “the national great unity” has been really become a wide political activity, gathering local people by significant deeds.
Meanwhile, the patriotic emulation movements have won enthusiastic responses from local residents, contributing to finish the local goals of socio-economic development and national defense and security.
The mobilization of “All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas” has become an important factor for people to show their homeland love. In 2012, the whole township had 2,793 cultural households, accounting for 84.27% and 521 cultural lodging houses, winning 63.2%.
Through capital sources, many households have escaped poverty, making a solid living. At present, the township has existed 18 poor households in line with the provincial line, accounting for 0.47%, wining the goals set out by the township party committee’s resolution.
“Possibly speaking, after 5 years of implementing the congress’ resolutions, My Phuoc township Fatherland Front Committee has launched successfully the patriotic emulation movements. People’s legitimate rights and the front’s apparatus and organization have been reinforced timely, meeting the set tasks. These are foundations for the township fatherland front congress, the 2013-2018 term to set out breakthrough tasks in a bid to excel goals of building My Phuoc into a civilized and prosperous urban area in the future”, Minh added.
