Early May 11, a delegation of the National Assembly Committee for Science-Technology and Environment (NACSTE), led by Tran Van Minh, Vice-Chairman of the Committee had a working session with provincial People’s Committee on the local daily waste management. Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee and leaders of some departments, sectors in the province welcomed the delegation.
At the meeting
Currently, there are around 1,600 tons of solid waste reported in the province per day while the amount of urban waste water is estimated around 142,816 cubic meters per day. The province has basically solved issues pertaining to waste management and treatment. Mr.Minh applauded the province’s efforts in realizing central decisions and plans on the local daily waste treatment and management. The province is now one of the country’s top localities in human resource and financial investment for environmental protection, especially in developing and applying modern technologies in waste treatment and collection.
*Prior to that, the delegation visited a solid waste treatment complex in Ben Cat town. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of relevant sectors received the delegation.
Mr.Minh also spoke highly of the complex. At present, it not only excels at waste treatment, but also generates recycled products from waste at people’s demand.
