Under significant activities of the 2014 Volunteer Youth Year, express rescue teams of traffic accidents along National Highway 1A is established with 46 locations across 30 provinces and cities from Thanh Hoa to Ca Mau provinces.
In Binh Duong province, the team is just debuted.
The National Highway 1A passing over Binh Duong province is under expansion and upgrade. This is a key route linking the North with the South, luring thousands of vehicles per day, so risk of traffic accident is very hiogh.
Therefore, establishing the National Highway 1A express rescue team is an essential deed in localities. The team’s members will receive information on traffic accident cases from local residents through the hot lines, after that they are urgently present at accident scenes to launch first aids for victims, protect scenes and ensure traffic order and safety and more.
The National Highway 1A express rescue team is established with the participation of 11 members who are policemen, safe guards, students and so on. All of them have a common heart of helping everyone. Nguyen Minh Thuan, head of the National Highway 1A express rescue team said “I was used to witness many traffic accidents on this highway. Many passengers at that time ignored victims. This easily makes victims face danger. I hope that we should be a member of express rescue team to help victims as well as minimize traffic accident cases”.
Despite difficulties in this work, many girls still join positively in the team. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, female member of the express rescue team said “Before becoming official member of this team, I joined in protecting traffic safety at intersections for over one year. I want to contribute partly to the work on traffic safety and order”.
Aside from joining in express rescue activities, the team’s members often hold dissemination activities and implement mobile motorbike tyre mendings for traffic participants on this route.
Nguyen Thi Le An, head of the committee for young workers and urban area under the provincial Youth Union said "the provincial youth union will positively support to help members of the rescue team well implement their tasks. In the coming time, the provincial youth union will expand this model across the province".
