National Radio Broadcasting Festival 2012

Entries to this year’s National Radio Broadcasting Festival should focus on national renovation in politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, ethnic policies, external policies and the international integration.

 NATIONAL RADIO BROADCASTING FESTIVAL 2012

 I. NATIONAL RADIO BROADCASTING FESTIVAL:

 The National Radio Broadcasting Festival is a biennial activity of Vietnam’s radio broadcasting industry. It aims to honor outstanding radio broadcasters and radio products nationwide. It is an opportunity for broadcasters to cooperate and share professional experience and skills and learn more about modern information communication technology in Vietnam and the world.

 II. THEME:

 Entries to this year’s National Radio Broadcasting Festival should focus on national renovation in politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, ethnic policies, external policies and the international integration.

 III. PARTICIPANTS:

 Reporters, editors and technicians of local radio TV stations, radio departments, VOV regional bureaus, the People’s Army Radio Department, Youth and Pioneers Departments and the Department for National Security.

 IV. CATEGORIES OF ENTRIES:

-         Reportage: maximum 8 minutes

 (Serial investigative reports: maximum 30 minutes) 

 -         Interview: maximum 5 minutes

 -         Radio story: 15 to 30 minutes

 -         General radio program: 30 minutes

 -         Live broadcast program: 30 minutes

 V. RULES:

 - For pre-taped products: These are products that have been broadcast on VOV or local Radio- TV stations between June 1, 2011 and April 30, 2012. Each product is required to:

 + Be recorded on a high quality CD with script attached.

 + Include title, name of the author (individual or collective authors) and address.

 + Include time of broadcasting, and be certified and signed by the station head.

 - For live broadcast programs: Send program outlines and technical requirements.

 - Each unit is allowed to send a maximum of 5 products: one product for each category.

 VI. DEADLINE AND MAILING ADDRESS:

 -         Deadline: must be postmarked between March 1, 2012 and May 1, 2012.

 -         Mailing address: The Secretariat and Listeners Department, Radio the Voice of Vietnam, 58 Quan Su, Hanoi. Tel: 04. 627 27 127. Fax: 04.627 27 124.

 -         Envelops should be marked: “Entry product for the 10th Radio Broadcasting Festival 2012”.

 VII. TIME AND VENUES FOR PRELIMINARY ROUNDS:

 * Preliminary rounds will take place in Vietnam’s northern, central and southern regions.

+ In the north: Quang Ninh Radio- TV Station.

 ( schedule: May 10 to 12, 2012).

 

+ In the Central-Central Highlands region: Quang Tri Radio-TV Station.

 (schedule: May 15 to 17, 2012).

 + In the southern region: Ba Ria- Vung Tau Radio- TV Station.

 (schedule: May 20 to 22, 2012).

 At the venues of preliminary rounds: Local stations will arrange locations for reporters and editors of other Radio- TV stations in the region to listen to the entries together with the Jury Board.

 * Final round: Scheduled from June 12, 2012 to June 15, 2012 at the Friendship Cultural Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

 * Opening ceremony: Evening June 13, 2012.

 * Closing ceremony:  Evening June 15, 2012.

  VIII. AWARDS:

 In addition to the official awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Consolation Prizes, Radio the Voice of Vietnam in coordination with the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Vietnam Electricity Group, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the National Committee for Crime and Drug Prevention will present special awards to products that focus on traffic safety, electricity and life, workers and trade unions, and crime and drug prevention.

 

All awards will be presented at the closing ceremony at the Friendship Cultural Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

 IX. SIDELINE ACTIVITIES:

 1.     Workshops.

 On the sidelines of the final round of the National Radio Broadcasting Festival, workshops on radio broadcast journalism and broadcast technology will be held at the Friendship Cultural Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

 -         Workshop: Radio and multi-media communication

 -         Workshop: Inheritance and music integration on the radio in the 21st century.

 -         International training workshop: Improving radio programs in international contests.

 (Further details of these three workshops will be provided later).

 * Workshop participants: reporters, editors, and technicians of the festival’s participating agencies.

 2. Exhibition of Radio TV technological achievements: Organized by EMICO General Company of the Radio Voice of Vietnam. Exhibits furnished by Vietnamese and foreign communications technology manufacturers.

 3. Tours: The Organizing Committee will organize tours of scenic spots and historic attractions around Hanoi: such as the K9 relic site and Bat Trang ceramic village. Anyone interested in joining these tours must pre-register with the Festival’s Organizing Committee.
