Nearly 98.6% of local students join health insurance

On the afternoon of July 6, provincial Social Insurance Agency held a conference to review health insurance for students during the 2021-2022 school year and implement this task for the 2022-2023 academic year.

According to statistics by provincial Social Insurance Agency, as of June 30, the whole province reached the rate of 98.59% of students participating in health insurance during the 2021-2022 academic year, up 0.09% compared to the previous school year. There were 100% of province-based primary, secondary and high schools joining health insurance. The participation of universities, colleges, intermediate schools and vocational colleges in health insurance was quite low. For example, the rate of students joining health insurance at Thu Dau Mot University was only 72.21%; the figure at Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology was 77.86%...

At the conference, Le Minh Ly, Director of provincial Social Insurance Agency asked for schools to review all students who are studying or have not yet graduated, due to owing their subjects, thereby better performing health insurance in the new school year. She also suggested provincial Department of Education and Training, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to strengthen the task of instructing schools, especially ones with low participation rate of health insurance; direct educational institutions and affiliated units to strictly implement the Law on Health Insurance for students...
