Late December 11, the Red Cross Society of Tam Lap commune in Phu Giao district held a conference to sum up its activities in 2014 and define orientations, tasks through 2015.
Despite difficulties, the society in 2014 mobilized organizations and individuals to present 295 gifts worth VND120mln to needy people. Under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, the society provided 17 needy people with rice worth VND150,000 per capita per month; visited and supported VND6.2mln for those with illness.
The society also teamed up with relevant agencies to provide free medical check-ups and medicine for 200 difficult cases with a total expense of VND30mln. In general, the total value of social charity activities done by the society in 2014 was estimated at approximately VND60mln.
On this occasion, the organizing board also awarded the certificates of merit of Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society to 2 individuals and the certificates of merit of Tam Lap communal People’s Committee to 9 collectives and individuals for their good performance to the movements of the communal Red Cross Society in 2014.
