The provincial Cooperative Alliance just held a conference to report collective economy in 2010 and orientations for 2011. As of the end of 2010, the entire province had 3,038 cooperative teams, clubs with 53,508 members, 97 cooperatives of 43,764 members, and an increase of nearly 92% from the past year.
Overall, collective economic models showed their good operation, cooperatives mobilized sources and diversified fields to linking with economic sectors inside and outside of the province and bringing high efficiency for cooperatives and members. Many cooperatives, credit funds are typical units in many consecutive years. They included An Thanh, Phuoc Hoa credit funds, Nhat Hung, Cong Minh, Thanh Long cooperatives.
However, collective economic models remain shortcomings. In 2011, the provincial Cooperative Alliance set out goals of building new cooperative models of health service cooperative, life service cooperative, housing cooperative… Especially, model of linkage cooperative will focus on developing models of cooperative in rural areas.
