On March 22, the Central Steering Board for the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, headed by Pham Hung Anh, Deputy Director of the Department for Facilities, School Equipment and Toys of Children under the Ministry of Education and Training, made an inspection tour of implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in the southern province of Binh Duong.
Binh Duong has so far had 30 communes with new rural construction in the 2011-2015 period. After two-year implementation of the program, Binh Duong has achieved some positive results on rural infrastructure. The average income of people in the rural region of the province in 2012 reached VND22.5mln a year; the ratio of poor households under the province’s new poverty line reduced to 1.42%; the value of products on a hectare of farming land reached VND73mln…
According to Mr.Hung, Binh Duong needs to drastically realize the program in the coming time; speed up propaganda work; develop effective production models…On behalf of the inspection delegation, Mr.Hung also acknowledged Binh Duong’s suggestions to the program while reporting them to the Central Steering Board.
*The same day, the above inspection delegation also made an inspection tour of implementation of new rural construction in Thuan An town’s An Son commune. It is known that An Son is among 5 pilot communes to successfully implement new rural construction in 2013. So far, An Son commune has fulfilled 15 out of 19 criteria on new rural construction…
