Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Secretary of Thuan An city’s Party Committee said that in order to continue the glorious tradition, in recent years, all-level Party committee, authorities and mass organizations of the city have tried their best to emulate in production and labor and maintain political stability, creating favorable conditions for the local socio-economic development. Specifically, in 2022, the whole city achieved and exceeded 15 out of 16 targets of the socio-economic development plan. The city’s industrial production value was VND 256.75trillion, or 100.8% of the plan. The city’s value of trade and service sector was VND93.03 trillion, up 23.02% compared to 2022, or 100.02% of the plan. The city’s total State budget revenue was more than VND3.89 trillion, or 107.65% of the estimate assigned by the province. The city’s economic structure shifted in the right direction of industry, trade - services and agriculture.
Looking at the statistics, it can be seen that Thuan An city is accelerating its economic development towards improving quality, developing stably, sustainably and effectively, focusing on increasing the proportion of trade-services commensurate with the local potential. The city has well implemented social welfare work, promoted education and training, healthcare, culture and sports under the motto of standardization and socialization; attached importance to job creation and vocational training to meet human resource requirements for development, had breakthrough solutions in building housing for workers and low-income people.

The solutions currently being directed by the Party Committee of Thuan An city are to speed up the progress of construction and disbursement of public investment capital, implementing key projects and investing in completing the local infrastructure system for socio-economic development and second-class urban criteria, urban rejuvenation; effectively control the Covid-19 pandemic, infectious diseases and newly arising diseases; improve the quality of sustainable poverty reduction; attach importance to cultural and social development, ensure social welfare, improve people's material and spiritual lives; develop education and training, improve the quality of human resources.
Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of Thuan An city’s People's Committee said that Thuan An city determined that industrial development will continue being a spearhead and play a role in promoting the development of other economic sectors and fields, creating a driving force for urban development, services and trade. In the development of trade and services, the city will further implement commercial civilization, a program on goods market stabilization; encourage all economic sectors to focus on developing services with advantages, high content of knowledge, technology and added value on the basis of modern industry and digital technology.
According to Nguyen Thanh Tam, 2023 is the year of implementation and preliminary review of the Resolution of the city’s 12th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan (2021-2025), it is forecasted that the global economy will further face many difficulties, adversely affecting the recovery process of the world’s economy. Therefore, the city will focus on solidarity and determination to implement, especially solutions to promote digital transformation, application of science - technology, administrative reform and online administrative procedures, improve transparency and competitiveness.
To meet the requirements of tasks in the coming time, Thuan An city will focus on training a contingent of qualified and professional staff; attach special importance to Party building work, promote the movement to studying Uncle Ho’s teachings every day.
