Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control: Binh Duong is trying its best to protect people and enterprises

Localities, agencies, units, enterprises and people from all strata in the province seriously implemented social distancing under the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 16 over the past 10 days. To get an overview about the results of the local Covid-19 prevention and control, Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control.

Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice- Secretary of provincial Party Committee visits and presents gifts to frontline anti-Covid-19 forces in Dau Tieng district

- What is your assessment of the local implementation of the Prime Minister ‘s Directive No. 16 over the past 10 days, sir?

- After 10 days of implementing social distancing across the province under the Prime Minister’s  Directive No. 16, it is easy to see that the observance of all-level authorities, sectors and the whole people for the directive has got stricter and stricter. This is a favorable condition for the province to minimize the unnecessary movement of people, enterprises and vehicles for Covid-19 prevention and control.

To achieve the above result, the province divided localities into red, orange, yellow and green zones. From the above division, the province put forward solutions, mobilized forces corresponding to the situation of each zone towards strengthening green zones, minimizing red zones, helping the province return to the normal state. During the process of implementing the Directive No.16, the province continued tracing and testing in a rolling wave direction. Localities were also locked after finishing tracing, testing to maintain safety. High-risk areas with many positive cases were scanned several times to detect F0 cases and those at risk for isolation and treatment as prescribed.

In the process of Covid-19 prevention and control, the province received support from central sectors, ministries and localities. On behalf of leaders and people of Binh Duong province, I express my respect for the support in terms of material facilities, human resources and expertise from the delegations. The province also organized coordination in the most reasonable way for the delegations in the fight against the pandemic.

 - In the coming time, what solutions will the province step up to enhance the effectiveness of the local Covid-19 prevention and control?

- On the basis of the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 16, the province will continue taking specific solutions such as strengthening measures in implementing social distancing, reducing the traffic density of people and vehicles. The province wants that all people should have consensus in realizing social distancing for themselves and the community. Protecting frontline forces is always the top priority. These are people who are directly on the front against the pandemic, in contact with high-risk cases, so they need to be fully equipped with protective suits, given priority to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to ensure safety for them.

In the coming time, the province will further attach special importance to treating Covid-19 cases. This is a very difficult problem, so the province is looking forward to receiving support from leading experts as well as necessary treatment equipment. The province wants that ministries, central sectors as well as support forces from localities in their own capacity will continue supporting the province in treatment of Covid-19 cases in the coming period.

- Sir, how is the province’s implementation of the "3 on-site" and "2 locations, 1 route" models in enterprises implemented and what are the differences of the models compared to other localities?

- Recently, the province has had a general policy that Covid-19 prevention and control is placed in a priority position, but does not let business and production activities be stagnated. Accordingly,  businesses were allowed to resume operation when guaranteeing the "3 destinations" and the "2 destinations, 1 route" models in the first phase of implementing the policy. However, up to now, this has arisen many shortcomings for change. In fact, there have been Covid-19 infections in industrial parks, compounds and factories…

Accordingly, if any enterprise ensures conditions for "3 on-site" production, it will continue being allowed to operate. Along with this, the "2 destinations, 1 route" model must be implemented in the direction of the first destination that is a safe enterprise. If there are suspected cases in the enterprise, the second destination is the place of treatment and isolation… Thus, there is a difference when applying the implementation of "2 destinations" in Binh Duong.

Binh Duong is trying its best to protect people and enterprises. The province hopes that all people across the province will strictly implement regulations issued by the Government and the province on Covid-19 prevention and control, thereby creating safety for themselves, their families and organizations, agencies and businesses in the province. ..

- Thank you Sir!
