In 2009, after completing his military service, Nguyen Thanh Huynh, born in 1983, was elected as Secretary of the Youth Union of Khanh Van hamlet in Tan Uyen district. At that time, the local Youth Union only had 6 members. But after his four-year leadership, it has reaped a strong development and has been highly appreciated by all levels.
Nguyen Thanh Huynh said that secretary of a Youth Union must be an exemplary person and always in the vanguard of the youth movements. In addition to the leadership work, he or she must actively join hands with Youth Union members in each concrete activity and is not fearful of hardship.
He added that he faced a lot of difficulties when working as a secretary of Khanh Van hamlet’s Youth Union in the initial period of 2009. At that time, Khanh Binh’s hamlets 1 and 2 were divided into 3 hamlets, namely Khanh Tan, Khanh Van and Khanh Loc. Most Youth Union members concentrated in Khanh Loc and Khanh Tan and Khanh Tan hamlet’s Youth Union only had 6 members. But, thanks to his own efforts, Khanh Van’s Youth Union has so far lured 22 members and set up 2 mass dancing groups, contributing to creating an useful playground for the local Youth Union members and children.
Realizing the role of a Youth Union secretary, Huynh has always raised high the spirit of criticism and self-criticism; actively responded and launched emulation movements among Youth Union members, including the campaign “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”; organized many significant programs on humanitarian blood donation, environmental hygiene, cultural-sports exchange among Youth Union members.
Such these apart, Huynh has also sped up many significant activities such as visiting and presenting gifts to those who had rendered services to the nation, people with difficulties…, contributing to helping the local youth know more about the moral principle “When drinking water, remember its source”.
With his ceaseless efforts, Huynh has so far promoted the development of the local Youth Union. He was also awarded the certificate of merit from Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union for his excellent performance in the Youth Union task during the 10 past years.
