On April 26, a charity kitchen named "Niem an vui” (Joy and happiness) was officially put into operation at No. 444/13, CMT8 street, Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot city. The kitchen will provide free vegetarian meals for the poor at every noon from Monday to Friday.
Dong Huu Dat, Head of the “Niem an vui” charity kitchen said this is a gathering place of 13 volunteer groups in Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces. The charity kitchen aims to create conditions for poor people, ticket lottery sellers to have a comfortable place for eating and drinking with high support from volunteer groups and donors. The charity kitchen’s organizational resources and ingredients to prepare dishes for the poor every day are supported by donors.
Every day, the kitchen provides about 300 free vegetarian meals. The figure will be 750 meals on the first and fifteenth days of lunar calendar. In addition to serving on-site subjects under the form of self-service, the house also provides daily meals for the poor in a number of shelters in Thu Dau Mot city.
On the first working day, the charity kitchen mobilized donors to support 1 wheelchair for a lottery ticket seller who had difficulty in traveling while offering 200 gifts to people in difficult circumstances.
