On March 5, the Women’s Union of North Tan Uyen district held a get-together to commemorate the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910-March 8, 2015) and the 1,975th anniversary of the two Trung sisters’ Uprising.
At the get-together, delegates reviewed the history of International Women’s Day and the two Trung sisters’ Uprising. The get-together also looked back on the fine tradition of Vietnamese women in general and of North Tan Uyen’s women in particular. Over the past time, the local women constantly upheld the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women, actively studied and creatively worked, step by step affirming their role in family and society.
Many exemplary role-models were discovered through emulation movements. As of late 2014, the district’s Women’s Union was recognized as an excellent unit by provincial Women’s Union and was awarded the certificates of merit of the Central Committee of Vietnam Women’s Union.
In 2015, the local women will further bring into full play their solidarity and fine tradition to successfully realize entrusted tasks.
On this occasion, the district’s Women’s Union sorted out 14 outstanding women to attend provincial Conference for Outstanding Women in the 2010-2015 period. The district’s Club for Female Managers made its debut at the event with 21 members and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy was nominated as Vice-Chairwoman of the Club.
