North Tan Uyen district now has 13 ethnic minority groups with 144 households and 611 people, most of them come from other localities.
Over the past time, the district’s People’s Committee instructed the district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to team up with the local branch of the Bank for Social Policies and mass organizations to implement loan support programs for ethnic minority people. On Tet and great holidays, the People’s Committees at all levels of the district also coordinated with sectors and mass organizations to mobilize donors to give gifts for ethnic minority people with difficult circumstances.
Thanks to the attention and help of the local authorities at all levels, ethnic minority households herein have risen up and got rich from animal husbandry and cultivation models. The households of Au Dai Mong and Chau Lang belonging to Nung and Khmer ethnic groups are typical example for this. They have been recognized as good households in production and business for many consecutive years.
