Numerous significant events on the anniversary of Hung King's death

For generations, the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (March 10th of the Lunar calendar) has held significant importance in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people. This year, alongside the entire nation, Binh Duong province, along with various units and localities within the province, will also commemorate this day to promote and educate the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source," preserve cultural identity related to national origins, and express the respect and profound gratitude of the Party Committee, government, and citizens of Binh Duong province for the contributions of the Hung Kings and our ancestors in building and defending the country.

An event to celebrate Vietnamese culture

The Hung Kings' Commemoration Day is a significant occasion dedicated to honoring the national cultural identity of Vietnam and its people, with particular emphasis on Binh Duong province. To ensure that the ceremony is conducted with solemnity and significance, the Provincial Organizing Committee for Major Holidays has issued Plan No. 03-KH/BTC, dated January 21, 2025, regarding the organization of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day in 2025. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been designated as the coordinating body, collaborating with various agencies, departments, and localities to execute this plan.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, announced that in accordance with the province's plan, this year's Hung King Commemoration Ceremony is scheduled for the morning of April 7, 2025 (March 10, At Ty year), at the Provincial Museum. The Commemoration Ceremony will consist of two segments: a formal ceremony and a festival, conducted with solemn rituals as per the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

The ceremony will be conducted with solemnity, incorporating all traditional rituals, including the student ceremony, the offering of incense, flowers, and gifts, as well as the gong and drum opening ceremony to honor the legacy of the Hung Kings and report on achievements. In addition to the main ceremony, this year's Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony will feature a special exhibition at the Provincial Museum titled "The Hung Kings' Period through Documents, Images, and Artifacts," designed to engage delegates and the public in exploration and education.

According to the plan devised by the Provincial Museum, the thematic exhibition will feature artifacts approximately 2,500 years old, originating from the Dong Son culture, and will include 177 images, documents, and 37 artifacts.

The festival will occur following the ceremony at Thu Dau Mot Park, adjacent to the Provincial Museum. It will feature engaging traditional activities, including Chung cake and Day cake wrapping contests, as well as folk games designed to foster a joyful and vibrant atmosphere, embodying the Vietnamese spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source."

The Hung Kings Commemoration Festival 2025 is a significant event that receives considerable attention and direction from the province. As the responsible entity, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has been collaborating with various units to execute the plan on time and to promptly develop distinct activities within the program series.

Extensive publicity

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony represents not only a distinctive practice in the ancestor worship of the ancient Vietnamese people but also a revered cultural emblem of patriotism, which has evolved into a profound sense of national unity. In the contemporary context, the ongoing promotion of historical and cultural values, including the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony, will play a vital role in reinforcing and significantly enhancing the spirit of national solidarity. This solidarity serves as a crucial foundation for advancing intellectual strength, fostering creativity, cultivating self-reliance, instilling national pride, and acting as a powerful impetus in the pursuit of national construction and development.

To effectively inform and engage the public in the activities of this significant event, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has instructed the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center to create a dedicated section commemorating the Hung Kings' death anniversary on the website: dulichbinhduong.org.vn, the Binh Duong Tourism app, and the social media platforms managed by the unit.

Consequently, information pertaining to the history and significance of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, as well as the activities organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in response to this event, has been disseminated through various channels to inform both domestic and international tourists. Furthermore, the Department has instructed the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center to collaborate with travel companies within and beyond the province to develop, promote, and facilitate tours that connect tourist attractions in Thu Dau Mot City with the Provincial Museum. These venues will host the solemn Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony, alongside display activities, exhibitions, folk games, and artistic performances, catering to the educational, sightseeing, and entertainment needs of visitors to Binh Duong during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day in 2025.

In addition to the provincial-level Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony, this year, several localities and organizations within the province also upheld the tradition by conducting the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony in accordance with established rituals.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony is scheduled to take place on the morning of April 7, 2025, at the Hung Kings Temple, located within the grounds of the Bung Cu communal house in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, Tan Uyen city. Preceding this event, on April 6, various activities will occur, including a Banh Day and Banh Chung wrapping contest, as well as a folk music program to celebrate the festival. The Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony is regarded as one of the two most significant ceremonies of the year at the Bung Cu communal house.

At the Vietnamese Soul Cultural Center - Binh Duong Flower Garden (Chanh Phu Hoa Ward, Ben Cat City), the Hung King Commemoration Ceremony will take place on the morning of April 7, 2025, featuring traditional rituals.
