This statement was set out by the provincial party committee secretary Mai The Trung cum head of the provincial National Assembly delegation on the Aug. 12 survey visit to Dau Tieng protective forest.

Mai The Trung and leaders of departments and agencies visit Dau Tieng riverhead protective forest.
The provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that Dau Tieng riverhead protective forest management board officially established in Feb. 2011 now manages 3,652.47ha of forest in 2 communes of Minh Hoa and Dinh Thanh communes.
Accordingly, the management board directly manages 651.45ha of forest, the remaining area of 2,333.46ha is assigned for families living near the forest. At present, the management board must rent local people’s houses as working office.
In addition, Dau Tieng riverhead protective forest management board petitioned to build more patrol roads, cooperate with tourism companies to improve efficiency of using forest, support allowances for forest security cadres and set up a 24ha resettlement project for 45 households living in Tha La hamlet, Dinh Thanh commune.
After hearing reports, Mai The Trung asked relevant departments and agencies to mull over the mentioned petitions for the sake for helping farmers attach to forest.
