Early August 27, Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee in collaboration with provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a ceremony to hand over a gratitude house to Nguyen Van Nuc, born in 1954, a war invalid in need of housing.
The 66.3-sq.m house has a total construction cost of VND120milion, including VND50million from the Electricity of Vietnam’s Southern Power Corporation (EVN SPC), VND30milion from provincial Gratitude Fund and the remainder from his family.
*On the morning of the same day, the Trade Union of Shang Hung Cheng Co. in An Thanh industrial compound in Thuan An town held a “beloved book, notebook” program with 2,000 notebooks, 120 sets of textbooks, 2,600 sets of old clothes and nearly VND80million in cash offered to pupils in Loc Ninh district’s Loc Tan and Loc Thanh communes in Binh Phuoc province.
It is known that the “beloved notebook, book” program was launched by the Trade Union of the company for the offspring of workers with difficult circumstances over the past years. With enthusiastic support from the company’s trade unionists, the program this year has also been for poor pupils in border areas.
On this occasion, the company also visited and presented 3 gifts worth VND1million each to heroic Vietnamese mothers; 2 gifts worth VND1million each to poor households in Loc Tan commune.
