Particularly, the district’s Women’s Union maintained credit groups; strengthened the exploitation and management of capital resources from the local Bank for Social Policy, non-governmental organizations; maintained the fund of “Day for the Poor”… As a result, more than VND15bln was mobilized to help more than 5,000 members develop homebased business.
The district’s Women’s Union also mobilized more than 1,200 well-off women to offer help to 2,738 needy ones with VND4.6bln; helped 53 women get a loan of VND57mln from its capital resource; especially disbursed VND7.5bln in loan from the local Bank for Social Policy for 498 women…
In addition, the district’s Women’s Union organized training courses on animal husbandry, cultivation…for 2,462 women and introduced jobs to 1,200 others.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, chairwoman of the district’s Women’s Union said that the district saw considerable decrease on the rate of female-headed households. The district’s Women’s Union also mobilized organizations and individuals to build 21 compassion houses and upgrade 4 dilapidated ones with a total expense of nearly VND832mln.
