Offering Red Cross houses, scholarships to needy people and students

On the afternoon of November 27, the Red Cross Society of the Emulation Cluster of the Southeastern provinces coordinated with provincial Red Cross Society to organize a handover ceremony of the humanitarian work in Binh Duong.

Leaders of the Vietnam Red Cross Society’s Central Committee, leaders of Binh Duong province and representatives of the Emulation Cluster awarded scholarships to students

The event was attended by Huynh Thi Xuan Lam, Vice President of the Central Committee of Vietnam Red Cross Society; Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Pernament Deputy Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of the Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities in the Emulation Cluster.

The humanitarian work was a “Red Cross” house worth over VND110million, supporting Lam Thi Thao's household in An Dien commune’s Kien Dien hamlet in Ben Cat town. Of the total cost, VND 80 million came from the Emulation Cluster and over VND30 million was contributed by donors. Mrs. Thao's family is in an extremely difficult circumstance and is one of the humanitarian addresses that receive monthly subsidies from the local Red Cross Association.

In addition to the warm new house, on this occasion, Mrs. Thao's family also received  more practical gifts from Huynh Thi Xuan Lam, Vice President of the Vietnam Red Cross Association’s Central Committee, members of the Emulation Cluster, provincial and local Red Cross Societies and donors.

*Also on this occasion, provincial Red Cross Society awarded scholarships to 40 students with difficult circumstances in Ben Cat town. Each student was given VND4 million.

It is known that in the 2023-2024 school year, the entire province has 1,000 disadvantaged students who will be supported by provincial Red Cross Society with scholarships worth VND12 million each. They will be supported VND 1 million every month.
