On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day, June 14, Thuan An town’s Steering Board on Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization has just forwarded a conference to review its activities in 2018 and implement tasks for 2019.
The town is home to 20 blood donation clubs with 435 members. In 2018, the town organized 102 programs on voluntary blood donation mobilization and propaganda with more than 13,962 participants, step by step changing public awareness of voluntary blood donation. The town also organized 10 voluntary blood donation stages with 2.315 units of blood given or 110.2% of the year’s plan. Many collectives and individuals made excellent contributions to the local voluntary blood donation campaign. In 2019, the town’s Steering Board on Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization will strive to mobilize collectives and individuals to give more than 2,250 units of blood.
On this occasion, Chairman of the town’s People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 18 collectives and 261 individuals with good achievements in the local voluntary blood donation campaign last year.
