Early December 2, provincial Sponsoring Association for Disable People, Orphans and Poor Patients held the fifth conference honoring outstanding disable people, orphans and donors from 2013 to 2016.
The association now supports 28,903 disadvantaged people. From 2014 to November 2016, the association mobilized VND17billion in cash and gift from organizations and individuals in and out of the province while joining hands with units to offer help of VND18billion to the disadvantaged. Upon this, the association and its branches well realized main support programs for the local disable people, orphans and poor patients. Particularly, they performed eye and heart surgeries for 815 people; provided free medical check-ups and medicine for 4,500 people; presented 450 wheelchairs, 354 bicycles; built 26 charity houses; gave Tet gifts for 26,500 people…
On this occasion, 37 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of the Vietnam Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients. Provincial People’s Committee also presented the certificates of merit to outstanding collectives in taking care of the disadvantaged. Besides, provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor awarded the certificates of merit to 2 collectives, 7 individuals; gave mementoes to outstanding donors; received money from units; offered scholarships, bicycles to orphans and presented wheelchairs to the handicapped.
