Provincial Veterans’ Society and its affiliates have made efforts in helping members develop home based business. So far, there have been no more poor veteran households…
Many role-models have been discovered from the “Good veterans in production and business” campaign. Veteran Nguyen Thanh Trung in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Vinh township is a typical example for this.
After returning from military service, Trung faced a hard life with all family burdens put on his shoulders. His father sacrificed in 1969. His mother also died only after few days the nation was liberated. At that time, his family included four siblings, two of whom were still very young. His wife’s parents were also very poor while he had no capital and occupation.
But, with the effort and determination of Uncle Ho’s soldier, Trung overcome all difficulties to rise up in life. After many years of hard work and failures, he has got rich from growing rubber trees. He now owns 20 ha of rubber trees under exploitation with the annual profit of VND2bln-VND2.5bln.
Not only Trung, many other veterans have also learnt to rise up in life and become exemplary role-models in production and business.
According to statistics from provincial Veterans’ Society, so far, there have been 24 businesses, 5 cooperatives and 345 farmsteads headed by veterans. 214 members of the Veterans’ Societies at all levels were granted the title of “Good veteran in production and business”.
Most facilities of the local veterans have always excelled at obeying the State’s regulations on production-business, tax payment obligation, environment; actively got involved in social charity activities, offered help to Vietnamese heroic mothers, spent billions of dong on assisting needy members…
