Outstanding women in homebased business development

In Tan Uyen district, there are now many women not only taking good care of their families, but also excelling in homebased business development.

Ngo Thi Phuong, head of Da Ban hamlet, former head of Da Ban hamlet’s Women Union in Tan Uyen district’s Dat Cuoc commune is a typical example for the above-mentioned thing.

In 1992, she and her husband left Bach Dang commune for Dat Cuoc commune to develop home-based business because of difficult circumstance. Her family tried to overcome difficulties and now owns 4 ha of rubber trees under exploitation together 5 ha of rubber trees just grown.

She has also got involved in developing a pig-breeding farm with more than 25 breeding pigs and supplying animal feed for the local breeders. It is estimated that her family’s annual income is around VND600mln.

For the activities of the Da Ban hamlet’s Women Union, she over time paid attention to the lives of members. She also organized a lot of significant activities, luring the involvement of many local women. Till 2010, she has been elected as head of Da Ban hamlet. Although taking a new task, she has still been active with the activities of the local Women’s Union.

Nguyen Thao Trang residing at Tan Phu hamlet, Tan Hiep commune, Tan Uyen district is also an exemplary role-model in overcoming difficulties to rise up.

Because of poverty, she and her husband took all jobs to earn their living. And then, she saved money to buy a one-hectare sunken land with the cheap price for rice cultivation. But, this model brought low yield, so she has bravely changed to growing crops to get higher economic efficiency…

With one hectare of crops, she can save more than VND50mln every year. She has used the money to provide loans for poor members of the local Women Union to develop homebased business for a stable life.

Thanks to their own efforts, women like Ngo Thi Phung and Nguyen Thao Trang have proved the important role and position of women in society, especially in homebased business development.
