On Dec 15, the final seminar of the project "Empowering and heightening economic, social position of migrant female workers through increasing accesses to reproductive health care services having quality and gender characteristics corresponding to Binh Duong and Dong Nai" was held by Marie Stopes Vietnam (MSV) at Tan Son Nhat Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City.
After three implementation years at 9 factories in Binh Duong and Dong Nai, the project attracted the participation of more than 100,000 female workers. The project provided information and varied services to more than 500,000 workers: group communications, 1-1 counseling, and messages. In particular, mobile health check-ups and health festivals helped workers to access healthcare services with guaranteed quality, save time and travel expenses, directly consult physicians, and participate in healthy games to improve knowledge of reproductive health, labor law and gender equality.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Chief of Social Affairs Committee under the National Assembly, appreciated good results of the project; called for contributions, efforts from organizations, units and plants to launch many more meaningful projects. At the seminar, representatives of the European Union in Vietnam, Ministry of Health, departments, enterprises in Binh Duong and Dong Nai gave presentations on the project’s positive effects on localities, enterprises.
On this occasion, representatives of MSV, EU, Pouchen Group awarded medals to individuals and organizations making large contributions to the project in the last 3 years.
