Thuan An town’s Farmers’ Association has just forwarded a conference to review its activities in 2017.
In 2017, the local Farmers’ Association well realized entrusted tasks and promoted emulation movements among members. The association maintained 1,170 hectares of fruit trees, developed more than 45 hectares of land for urban agriculture with 306 households growing safe vegetables; developed urban animal husbandry models…Over the past year, the whole town had a total of 2,733 households winning the “good farmer in production-business” title. The association also mobilized well-off members to give support in terms of nurslings and agricultural materials for 258 needy ones with more than VND3.4billion; coordinated with the Bank for Social Policies, Lai Thieu and An Thanh Credit Funds to consider and provide more than VND43.57billion in loan for 1,145 households.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association awarded the certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 3 individuals for their excellent performance in the local farmers’ movements for the period of 2016-2017. Provincial Farmers’ Association also honored 1 collective and 3 individuals. The town’s People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 13 collectives and 25 individuals having excellent achievements in activities of the local Farmers’ Association last year.
