On Jule 14, Phu Giao district’s Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation in collaboration with the HCM city-based Cho Ray hospital’s Center for Blood Transfusion and Hematology held its 5th voluntary blood donation campaign of 2015.
The voluntary blood campaign absorbed more than 300 volunteers, including trade unionists, red cross members and locals. After being checked, 207 were eligible for blood donation. The organizers also collected 207 units of blood, equivalent to 72,450 milliliters of blood. All the blood amount will be transferred to the HCM city-based Cho Ray hospital’s Center for Blood Transfusion and Hematology for preservation and use when being necessary.
It is known that Phu Giao district has been allotted a target of collecting 1,400 units blood this year. So far, the district’s Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation has organized 5 blood donation campaigns with 968 units of blood, equivalent 338,800 milliliters of blood collected, or over 69% of the yearly target.
