A conference to review the province’s national target program on sustainable poverty reducation for the 2016-2020 period, set out orientations for the 2021-2020 period was held at the People’s Committee of Phu My ward in TDM city on the morning of July 29.
The event was attended by Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Thanh Truc, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Outstanding collectives honored at the conference
Over the past five years, the province reduced the number of poor households by 3,102 under the local poverty line. It is expected that the whole province will decrease the number of poor households by 4,556 by the end of 2020. Basically, there will be no more poor households under the central poverty line and no more households getting poor again. Upholding results done over the past time, the province will strive to reduce the rate of poor households to below 2% under the province’s new multi-dimensional poverty measure.
Addressing the event, Mr.Truc asked for sectors, authorities at all levels and relevant agencies to continue having good coordination in the realialization of the province’s national target program on sustainable poverty reduction for the 2021-2025 period, thereby helping the poor get opportunities in order to rise up out of poverty, contributing to effectively carrying out the local social welfare policies.
On this occassion, provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 12 collectives, 22 individuals with achievements in the local poverty reduction; donated 90 gifts worth VND700,000 each to poor households...
