Tan Uyen district’s Farmers Society has just forwarded a conference to review its activities in 2013 and extend orientations, tasks for 2014.
In 2013, the district’s Farmers Societies at all levels launched and well realized 3 great emulation movements, including the movement of “Farmers helping each other in economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction”. There were 8,947 households registering for the title of “Good farmer in production and business”. As a result, there were 7,607 households recognized as good farmers at all levels.
The society has so far developed a support fund for farmers with more than VND278mln collected and coordinated with the district’s Bank for Social Policies to provide loans for members for production development with total outstanding loans amounting to more than VND29bln. The society last year teamed up with relevant agencies to organize 258 training courses on sci-tech transfer for 11,218 members; actively coordinated with relevant agencies and enterprises to organize support activities for members in production development with a total value of more than VND1.43bln.
In 2012, Tan Uyen district’s Red Cross Society will continue effectively launching and implementing 3 great emulation movements launched by provincial Farmers Society; mobilize 90%-95% of households registering for the title of “Good farmers in production and business” and strive to have at least 60%-65% of households recognized as good farmers at all levels.
On this occasion, the district’s Farmers Society also awarded the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee to 2 collectives and the certificates of merit of the district’s People’s Committee to 47 collectives and 46 individuals for their excellent achievements in the local farmers’ movements in 2013.
