Over VND 4.6 billion offered to assist 300 children and their families affected by COVID-19 epidemic

On February 16, Binh Duong province's Project Management Board coordinated with Save the Children to organize a conference kicking off the project of "emergency response to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Southern provinces of Vietnam.” Attending the conference was representatives of leaders from Save the Children, Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and officials of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of districts, towns and cities in the province.

Launched for December 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022, Save the Children is part of the efforts to assist chilren and their families under harsh circumstances in the Southern provinces of Vietnam to get back to normal life after the heavy hit of COVID-19 epidemic.

The support of Save the Children is meant to help children and families heavily affected by COVID-19 epidemic have better lives

In Binh Duong province, Save the Children has coordinated its operations with People’s Committees and related sectors and agencies. It is expected that about 300 children and families shall be benefitted of the project that offers over VND 4.6 billion. The direct beneficiaries are children of special circumstances and risks brought about by the COVID-19 epidemic including those orphaned by COVID-19 or infected by COVID-19 or under quarantine and lockdown measures, and families of children of such intervention of the mentioned project.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Deputy Director of Binh Duong provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs informed: “The money will soon come to families and children of special situations.  The amounts is great to help families recover from economic basis while the children are offered help in terms of instruments of learning.”
