In its tenure of 2010-2015, Ben Cat Town Association of Women has effectively carried out the poverty reduction activities, contributing to socio-economic development of the town. The Association has concentrated on directing movement of supporting women in development household businesses through the models of savings and interest-free circulated loans funding. The Association has called upon nearly 4,000 members of better conditions to support over 4,3000 other in difficulties for total loans of over VND 8.6 billion to help the escape poverty. Currently, the poverty ratio of the town is declined to 1.2%.
Besides, to help poor women to build their accommodation, the Association has called for fund raising from donators to build up 42 charity houses at the cost of over VND 1 billion. The Association also makes frequent visit to socially-privileged families, poor women and children and offers nearly 2,300 gifts to them at the cost of VND 967 billion. Besides, the Association is maintaining a program to support 117 poor students on frequent basis at the cost of over VND 100 million.
