Early August 29, provincial Red Cross Society held its 4th executive board congress and partially reviewed its activities in the first half of 2017. Attending the event were Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Public Relations, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Over the past six months, the society and its branches mobilized organizations and individuals to donate gifts worth more than VND25billion to nearly 58,000 poor people under the “Tet for the poor” movement. They also offered help of more than VND2billion to more than 1,000 humanitarian addresses…Under the the movement of “members helping each other in economic development”, 9,000 members were helped with more than VND13billion, contributing to stabilizing their lives.
The society and its branches also gave aid of VND 9billion for more than 30,000 poor people, Agent Orange victims, ethnic minority people in and out of the province; continued maintaining “charity rice jar”, “charity kitchen” models; organized 43 voluntary blood donation programs and collected more than 10,000 units of blood…On this occasion, Nguyen Thanh Truc was elected as Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society (photo).
Addressing the conference, Mr.Liem spoke highly of social charity activities done by provincial Red Cross Society over the past time while wanting that officials and members of the society will make efforts in order to more effectively realize social charity movements; continue improving operational contents and operations towards diversification and practicability; boost a task of propagandizing the significance of the “Each organization, individual should stick to an humanitarian address” campaign…
